“The MoolaMinds unit plan has been wonderful - I really enjoy the guiding questions and examples. The students have experienced such lively and profound discussions about the concepts, which, notably, has not happened in our math class like this before. Also, the students are really engaged with the subject material and are eager to share their thoughts and wonderings. Thank you for this outstanding program. “
“We loved the characters and the stories. My students were able to recall the characters better than myself! The names helped students determine which each term meant. Students really enjoyed the lesson formats, and were relatively engaging for them. Students loved the activities about the shoe (research types of shoes with a budget). We would have liked to see more activities relating to making change and calculating costs. Students really struggled with making change, and updates here will prove beneficial. I would definitely like to use it next year, when you have a Grade 6 version.”
“It was great for multi grade centres. Maybe some more independent activities for the next version.”
"Happy to see Joseph learning and understanding more about money/finance. Definitely, he feels very "professional" about money now. Thank you MoolaMinds!"
“Representatives from Moola Minds visited our school to teach the students from Grade 3-8 about financial literacy. I learnt that people develop their learning habits at around the age of 7, so it is very important the students learn how to manage money.
The program was very interactive; it was very open and students were invited to share and discuss. The presenters were very knowledgeable on the topic. They played a few YouTube videos and explained many terms like “credit score”, “interest”, “good and bad debt”. and more. Their characters in the videos provided real-life examples. Overall, the financial literacy program was very interesting and up to open-discussion.
"I am very pleased with the MoolaMinds program. Layla has so much to tell me when she gets home. Financial literacy is a fundamental skill. I cannot thank you enough for designing this program."
“As a school administrator I would highly encourage the use of MoolaMinds within the classroom setting to support students with the new Financial Literacy Curriculum. Through the support of flash cards depicting real life scenarios as well the correct language used in relation to money talk, MoolaMinds is the perfect tool for children to feel good about money talks! Through this kit, students/children can learn about smart money matters independently, with a peer or as a whole group with an adult or teacher. I would highly recommend using some of your moola to invest in a MoolaMinds kit today.”
“Our daughter uses Saven and Spendi as examples when she thinks about her spending choices. The cards really started the money conversations in our home. We could talk about the examples. The kids enjoyed collecting points as they learned.”
“I really like the step-by-step learning of the kit. The kids can follow learning on their own. Even by teenagers get involved in the activities.”
“Emma loves the MoolaMinds financial literacy program at NorthStar Montessori. I am glad to see Emma start to understand interest and apply the knowledge to her daily life. i.e., her classmates borrowed $2 from her on the cookie sale at school, and she told the kid there was $2 late fee if the kid could not pay back on time! For sure, Emma will be in the next session to learn more about money topics!
The workshop helped students expand their knowledge of how to do budgeting and automate personal finances. The workshop enlightened students on how they can create a financial portfolio or a business plan. These topics definitely were helpful in building students' personal independence, giving them the skills to make wise decisions financially and socially.
Overall, I think this is a great financial literacy workshop. It covers all of the key topics in personal finance in a way that is easy to understand. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to improve their financial literacy.
Fantastic workshop! Financial literacy for kids made relevant!!
